  March 2008

We took a road trip to Minnesota for a conference and also took in some sights. We passed through Iowa as well, but there was nothing there.

We moved out of California and hit the road for Missouri. Along the way we felt an unexplainable compelling force to stop at Devil's Tower in Wyoming and also visited the Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore monuments in South Dakota.

Luke and I ran the 5 mile Buffalo Chips Fourth of July Run in Sacramento. We both saw major improvments in our mile pace: Luke's finish time was 40:34 (8:07/mile pace) and my time was 38:47 (7:45/mile pace).

Snow skiing in July! Luke and I spent the first weekend in July at Mammoth for the final days of skiing before the slopes shutdown for the summer. We also travelled to nearby Devil's postpile where an ancient lava flow cooled and formed completely unnatural-looking hexagonal columns rising up from the valley floor.

StationRipper let's you rip MP3s directly from live Internet music broadcasts. Just tell it which stations to rip from, and let it do it's thing in the background. My only complaint is that the MP3 ID tags aren't typically broadcast cleanly, so the beginning and/or ends of songs tend to get cut off. But worth checking out nonetheless.

We've moved from Southern California to Folsom, CA, 20 miles east of Sacramento due to the growth of the business, Network Corps. Cold and wet, but also very nice.
